What is a home service salon, and how does it work in Dubai?
What a home service salon is and how booking works in Dubai: choosing a therapist, the deposit, travel fees by area, what arrives and what to prepare at home.
Guides
A home service salon is a beauty service that comes to you: a therapist arrives at your door with her kit, her linen and, for a massage, her table, does the work in your own room and leaves with everything she brought. At Hamd Beauty every therapist is a woman and every client is a woman, the booking is confirmed by a deposit, the travel fee depends on your area, and the tools that come through the door have a record you can read. This is how the whole thing works, step by step, in our own terms.
What a home salon is, and what it is not
It is the same manicure, blow-dry, wax, massage or henna you would have in a salon, done at your table, on your sofa or in your bedroom. What you give up is the salon chair and the drive; what you gain is your own bathroom, your children in the next room and no waiting area. The therapist brings the tools, the products, the towels, the table for a massage, and the hygiene routine a good salon would have.
It is not a cheaper version of a salon, and it is not a stranger with a bag. Each of our therapists has a profile with her specialties, the languages she speaks, the areas she covers and a gallery of her work, and she carries a numbered kit whose sterilisation record is public.
Step one: choose the service and the therapist
Start on the services page, which lists nails, hair, makeup, waxing and threading, lashes and brows, massage and henna, each with its duration and price.
Then choose who comes. Every therapist has a profile on the therapists page; pick her when you book, or use Match Me and we will suggest one based on what you want and where you are.
Step two: choose the area and the time
Tell us which area you are in. The Areas page lists every zone we visit with its travel fee and the therapists who cover it. At the moment:
- Mirdif, Al Khawaneej, Al Warqa and Al Mizhar: no travel fee.
- Deira, Downtown Dubai and Dubai Marina: a travel fee, shown on the Areas page and in your total before you pay.
If your area is not listed, message the concierge with it; if a therapist can reach you, we will arrange the visit.
The earliest you can book is three hours from now, and the calendar opens 60 days ahead. Thursday from four in the afternoon, and all day Friday and Saturday, are held for members first; a held time that is still open 48 hours before it starts is released to everyone.
Step three: the deposit
A deposit of 20% of the total is paid online when you book, and the booking is confirmed the moment it is paid. The balance is paid at the visit. Every price already includes VAT at 5%, and any travel fee is shown in the total before you pay, so nothing is added on the day.
Cancel more than 24 hours before the visit and the deposit is returned. Inside 24 hours it is kept. Each booking can be moved once without charge, again as long as it is more than 24 hours before. Bridal bookings work differently: a 30% deposit, with the balance due seven days before the wedding, and a trial booked at least 21 days out; the bridal page explains them.
Step four: what you prepare
A comfortable seat, a table or clear surface near a power socket, and good light. For a massage, a space the size of a single bed with room to walk around it, and a cool room. For hair, wash it before we arrive unless the therapist says otherwise. Add gate, building or parking instructions to the booking notes so she arrives on time, and put any allergy or skin condition in the notes as well, then tell her again before she starts. The full list for nails is in how to prepare your home for a manicure and pedicure.
Step five: what arrives at the door
A woman in uniform with a numbered kit. The kit has an ID such as HB-K-001, printed on the case and shown in your booking. Inside it:
- Metal tools in sealed pouches. After every client day they are washed, sealed and sterilised in an autoclave, and each cycle is logged against the kit with its date, time and indicator result. The pouch is opened in front of you.
- Single-use items, new for you. Files, buffers, wax spatulas and strips, mascara wands and similar items are opened where you can see and discarded when your visit ends.
- Linen for one client. Towels, sheets and face cradle covers are fresh for your visit and leave with her for laundering.
- Clean hands and a wiped surface. She cleans her hands before she begins and between services, and wipes down the surface she works on before and after.
Your booking shows the kit ID and when it was last sterilised, and you can type any kit ID into the Hygiene Promise page to read its record. If you want to know what to ask any provider, ours included, what to ask any home beauty service about hygiene is the list.
Booking for more than one person
One visit can look after 2 to 12 women: a mother and daughters before Eid, a bridal party, a room of friends. We send the number of therapists the group needs, and the travel fee is charged once for the visit. Book it as a group visit.
Memberships and the price list
A membership is one visit a month with the services named in the plan, a discount on anything else you book, and first call on the times held for members. Two of the plans also waive the travel fee in any zone.
As for the "home salon price list": it is the services page and the booking flow, where every price is read from the catalogue and includes VAT. We do not repeat prices in articles like this one, so what you see when you book is always current.
What you can book
Anything on the services page, from a classic manicure to a relaxing massage or henna on both hands, in any of the areas on the Areas page. Choose the service, the area, the therapist and the time, pay the deposit, and the rest arrives at your door.
