BIAB (builder in a bottle)
Also called: Builder in a bottle and Soft builder gel
A soft builder gel that is brushed on from a bottle like polish, giving natural nails a strong overlay that lasts three to four weeks.
BIAB stands for builder in a bottle. It is a builder gel thin enough to be brushed on from a polish bottle, cured under a lamp, then shaped and sealed like any gel. It sits between gel polish and hard gel: stronger than a colour coat, softer than a sculpted set, and it soaks off with acetone rather than being filed away.
Women choose it to grow out weak or bitten nails, because the overlay stops the tips splitting. A set usually lasts three to four weeks and is often infilled rather than removed each time. It is not designed to add much length.
Hamd Beauty does not offer BIAB. If you want colour on your natural nails, the gel manicure is the nearest service on the menu. BIAB uses the same acrylate chemistry as other gels, so anyone who has reacted to gel before should say so and consider a patch test. This is general information, not medical advice.
We do not offer this at present. It is explained here because people ask about it.
