French manicure
Also called: French tips and French nails
A nail look with a sheer pink or nude base and a crisp white line painted along the tip, in ordinary polish or gel.
A French manicure is a style rather than a separate treatment. After the usual shaping and cuticle care, the therapist paints a sheer pink, milky or nude base and then a neat white band along the free edge of each nail. Variations swap the white for another colour, a thinner line, or a deeper curve. In gel it lasts as long as any gel colour, two to three weeks on the hands.
It suits almost every nail shape and length, looks clean with a bridal dress or an abaya, and because the base is sheer, regrowth at the cuticle is less obvious than with a dark colour. Painting a steady white line freehand takes practice, so it adds a little time to a manicure.
Hamd Beauty does not list a French manicure on its menu. The classic and gel manicures are colour services; if you have a particular look in mind, describe it in the booking notes and we will tell you whether the therapist can do it.
