Bridal hair
Also called: Wedding hairstyle and Bridal updo
The wedding-day hairstyle, built to hold for many hours under a veil, headpiece or jewellery and to match the dress and the makeup.
Bridal hair is styled to last, not just to look right at the start. The stylist works on hair washed the day before or that morning, sets a foundation with heat and product, and builds the style, whether an updo, soft waves, a half-up or a low chignon, pinning it so it holds through the veil going on and coming off, a long evening and dancing. It takes around ninety minutes on the day.
The choice depends on the dress neckline, whether you wear a veil or headpiece, your hair's length and weight, and the makeup. An updo suits a high neck and a heavy veil; loose waves suit a simple dress and a light veil. Extensions or hairpieces can be added for volume, but must be planned at the trial.
Bring the veil, headpiece and any hair jewellery to the trial so they are pinned in the same way on the day. Hamd Beauty's bridal hair is styled and pinned to hold under a veil, done at home before the makeup.
