Paraffin treatment
Also called: Paraffin wax dip and Paraffin hand treatment
Dipping the hands or feet in warm melted paraffin wax, then wrapping them so the heat softens dry skin and eases stiff joints for a few minutes.
A paraffin treatment is an add on to a manicure or pedicure. The hands or feet are dipped several times into a bath of melted paraffin wax kept just above body temperature, then wrapped in plastic and a warm mitt for ten to fifteen minutes. As the wax cools it is peeled off in one piece. The trapped heat helps moisturiser sink in, so it is popular for rough heels and dry hands.
The effect is comfort and softness that lasts a day or two; it is not a treatment for a skin condition. Because one bath often serves many clients, ask whether the wax is fresh or poured into a single-use bag for you, and test the temperature on your wrist first.
Hamd Beauty does not offer a paraffin treatment. The classic pedicure includes heel care and a massage, and the classic manicure a hand massage. Anyone with reduced feeling in the hands or feet, circulation problems or open skin should ask their doctor before any heat treatment. This is general information, not medical advice.
We do not offer this at present. It is explained here because people ask about it.
