A light, even makeup for daylight: skin that still looks like skin, softly defined brows and eyes, a natural lip and nothing heavy.
Day makeup is built for natural light, which shows everything. The artist preps the skin with moisturiser and primer, uses a light or medium coverage base only where it is needed, conceals under the eyes, adds a little warmth with bronzer or blush, brushes the brows into shape, keeps the eyes to soft neutral shades and mascara, and finishes the lip in a tint or a nude. Powder is used sparingly so the skin keeps its glow.
Allow about an hour. With a good base and a light setting mist a day look holds through a working day, a brunch or a family visit, with a lip top up now and then. It suits daytime events, photographs in sunlight and anyone who does not usually wear much makeup.
