Setting spray
Also called: Fixing spray and Makeup finishing mist
A fine mist sprayed over completed makeup to melt powder into the skin and help the whole face last longer through heat, sweat and long hours.
A setting spray is the last step of a makeup application. Held at arm's length and misted in an X and a T across the face, it takes away the dusty look of powder, binds the layers together and forms a light film that slows fading, transfer and creasing. Some are matte for oily skin, some dewy for dry skin, and the long wear versions are what artists reach for on wedding days.
It is not the same as a primer, which goes under makeup, or a facial mist, which only refreshes. On its own it will not make poorly set makeup last; the base, powder and spray work together. In Dubai's heat it is the difference between a look that holds until midnight and one that slides by nine.
Setting spray is a product, not a service, so there is nothing to book. Hamd Beauty's evening makeup is set to last the night. If you have sensitive eyes or skin, tell the artist and she can keep the mist away from the eye area.
