Airbrush makeup
Also called: Spray makeup and Airbrush foundation
Foundation sprayed onto the skin as a fine mist through a small compressor gun, giving a thin, even, long wearing base.
Airbrush makeup uses a small air compressor and a pen shaped gun to spray foundation in very fine layers instead of applying it with a brush or sponge. Because the mist is so thin it settles evenly over pores and fine lines, and several light passes build coverage without a heavy feel. Silicone based airbrush formulas resist sweat and tears, which is why brides ask for it.
The base itself takes about the same time as a traditional application. It suits oily or combination skin, hot weather and long days in front of a camera. It suits dry or very textured skin less well, since the spray can sit on flakes, and it is harder to do a quick touch up without the machine. Traditional makeup, done well and set properly, photographs just as cleanly.
Hamd Beauty does not offer airbrush makeup. Its day, evening and bridal makeup are applied by hand with single-use sponges and applicators for every client.
We do not offer this at present. It is explained here because people ask about it.
