Reflexology
Also called: Foot reflexology and Zone therapy
A treatment that applies thumb and finger pressure to specific points on the feet, and sometimes the hands, based on the idea that they correspond to areas of the body.
Reflexology is done on the feet, and sometimes the hands or ears. You sit or lie back with your shoes off while the practitioner works methodically over each foot with her thumbs, pressing and rotating on points that a reflexology map links to regions of the body. It is firmer and more specific than a foot rub but rarely painful.
A session is usually thirty to sixty minutes, with little or no oil. It suits women who spend long hours standing, who find full body massage too much, or who want a relaxing treatment that does not require undressing.
Reflexology is a relaxation practice; claims that it treats or diagnoses illness are not established, and it is no substitute for seeing a doctor. It is not suitable on a foot with an infection, open wound, gout flare or fracture, and if you are pregnant or have diabetes or circulation problems, ask your doctor first. This is general information, not medical advice.
Hamd Beauty does not offer reflexology. Its relaxing massage is a full body massage; say at booking if you would like time spent on the feet.
We do not offer this at present. It is explained here because people ask about it.
