Thai massage
Also called: Thai yoga massage
A clothed massage done on a floor mat without oil, combining pressure along the body's lines with assisted stretches that move you through yoga-like positions.
Thai massage is unlike an oil massage. You wear loose clothes and lie on a firm mat on the floor. The therapist uses her palms, thumbs, elbows, knees and feet to press along the body's energy lines, and moves your limbs into stretches, rocking and leaning her weight into them. It is sometimes called lazy yoga because you are stretched without doing the work.
A session is usually sixty to ninety minutes. It suits women who feel stiff and want more range of movement, and those who dislike oil or being undressed. It can be vigorous: say so if a stretch is too much.
It is not suitable with a recent injury, joint or disc problems, osteoporosis, or after surgery, and in pregnancy or with a heart condition or high blood pressure, ask your doctor first. This is general information, not medical advice.
Hamd Beauty does not offer Thai massage at present. Its massages are oil-based table massages: a relaxing massage and a deep tissue massage.
We do not offer this at present. It is explained here because people ask about it.
