Brazilian wax
Also called: Full bikini wax and Hollywood wax
A wax that removes most or all of the hair in the bikini area, front and back, going well beyond the bikini line.
A Brazilian wax takes the hair from the whole bikini area, including the labia and the back, sometimes leaving a small strip or triangle at the front. A Hollywood wax removes everything. A bikini line wax, by contrast, only tidies the edges that would show in swimwear.
It is almost always done with hard wax in small sections, with the skin held taut. First appointments take around twenty to thirty minutes and can be uncomfortable; regular clients usually find it easier as the hair thins and they know what to expect. Regrowth is commonly three to five weeks.
The area needs care afterwards: loose cotton underwear, no hot baths, swimming or exercise for about a day, and no exfoliating for two or three days. It is not suitable on broken or irritated skin, and in pregnancy it is worth asking your doctor first. This is general information, not medical advice.
