Hard wax
Also called: Stripless wax and Hot wax
A thicker wax applied warm that sets on the skin and is peeled away by hand without a strip, often chosen for small or sensitive areas.
Hard wax is applied in a thicker layer than soft wax, left for a short moment until it sets, then lifted at one edge and pulled off in a single piece. It grips the hair more than the skin, which is why many therapists prefer it for the bikini area, underarms and face.
It tends to feel gentler on thin skin and can go a second time over the same small area if hairs were missed, something soft wax should not do. The trade-off is speed: legs in hard wax take longer and use more product, so soft wax remains the usual choice for large areas.
Regrowth is the same as any waxing, commonly three to six weeks. The same cautions apply: not on sunburnt, broken or recently peeled skin, and ask your doctor if you are pregnant or on skin medication. This is general information, not medical advice.
Hamd Beauty does not offer a hard wax service at present. Its wax services use warm wax with single-use strips and spatulas.
We do not offer this at present. It is explained here because people ask about it.
