Waxing
Also called: Wax hair removal and Body wax
Hair removal in which warm wax is spread on the skin, grips the hairs and is pulled away so they come out from the root.
Waxing removes hair from the root rather than cutting it at the surface. Warm wax is spread thinly along the direction of growth, then a strip or the set wax itself is pulled back quickly against the growth and the hairs come away with it. Most women find the skin stays smooth for around three to six weeks, depending on the area and how fast their hair grows.
Legs usually take around forty five minutes and arms around thirty. Hair should be about the length of a grain of rice for the wax to grip.
Waxing suits most skin, but not skin that is sunburnt, broken or freshly treated with strong exfoliating acids or certain prescription creams. This is general information, not medical advice: if you are pregnant, on skin medication or have a skin condition, ask your doctor first.
When you book, ask what wax is used and whether the spatula is new for each client. Hamd Beauty uses warm wax with a new spatula and new strips for every client.
