Hair colour
Also called: Hair dye and Colouring
Changing the shade of the hair with a permanent, semi permanent or temporary dye, from covering grey to a full new colour or highlights.
Hair colour covers everything from a gloss that adds shine for a few weeks to permanent dye that lightens or darkens the hair until it grows out. Permanent colour opens the hair and deposits pigment inside; semi permanent colour sits on the outside and fades over six to twelve washes; lightening removes pigment and is what balayage and highlights use.
A single process colour takes one to two hours; lightening and toning can take three or more. Regrowth on permanent colour shows after four to six weeks. Hair dye can cause an allergic reaction, so a patch test on the skin 48 hours before a colour is the standard precaution, and one you should ask for anywhere. If you are pregnant, ask your doctor which types of colour are appropriate. This is general information, not medical advice.
Hamd Beauty does not offer hair colour, highlights or balayage. It can bring a blow-dry or a repair treatment to your home between colour appointments to keep the hair soft and the colour glossy.
We do not offer this at present. It is explained here because people ask about it.
